“Queen” Sissy won her sixth triple-threat title of the season and her eleventh overall as she completed her “Holiday Triple” in a dramatic Holiday Championship decider.
Earlier this season, Sissy had already won the Holiday Masters and the GP Holiday Series.
Also, Sissy has prematurely clinched her second straight “Medal” as Player Of The Year.
Sissy needed no fewer than 21 championship points to finally clinch the title on a motionless “6” followed by a “1” for her fourth yellow pawn after 1:54 hours of play on Sunday back in Hanover.
Harry was in championship-point situation himself when Sissy ended the game. In total, he missed out on eight chances to defend his title won in 2023 with his fourth blue pawn.
Nici had a promising start into the game with reasonable hopes to win her second consecutive title. However, her third green pawn was caught close to home so that she was denied a potential winner lap.
Due to his failure to defend the title, Harry had to surrender the number-two spot on the World Rankings to his froggy daughter.
Sissy, who has been leading the World Ranking since its introduction 687 days prior, is guaranteed to keep the top spot until after the 2025 Holiday Masters. With a current score of 153 ranking points and a 64-point leading margin, Sissy has improved her own XMädn records.
The highlight of the season, the 2024 World Championship, is scheduled to begin with the first two games this coming weekend.
