Nici won the Game-13 decider of the 2025 World Masters at Monday Night MÄDNess and won the first trophy of her career!

After 2:37 hours of fierce battle, Nici converted her second championship point on a “2” for BLU2, thus completing her only PWL and sparkling scenes of utter joy for the froggy junior player.

For the first time in XMädn history, a trophy has evaded “Queen” Sissy who will not have a chance to win yet another Royal Triple Crown this year.

While his froggy daughter won her first “Major” title at the seventh attempt, Harry‘s long wait for a trophy he has been longing for continues. He has not won a ranking tournament since January of last year.

Sissy had a promising start into the decider as she saved 2-&-1 within the first 80 minutes of play with Nici having saved only BLU1 and Harry still without a pawn brought home. However, from then on, Sissy needed over an hour before she got to save another pawn.

During this period Nici was able to bring home four more pawns to go 3-&-2. While Nici maintained the tactically favourable order of pawns saved, Sissy had to deviate from it and went 3-&-1, then 4-&-2 just before Nici went 3-&-3 and 4-&-3.

Harry fought bravely as he fell just short of saving 2-&-2 more than once and really didn’t have luck on his side. He eventually found himself forced to play defence and focus on disrupting his opponent in most promising position, in this case Nici.

After 2:33 hours of play, Nici moved BLU3 to home field (b), thus starting a PWL with BLU4 already halfway around the track. Opposing pawns that could have applied pressure were nowhere in sight as the dice once again favoured Nici in this phase.

Sissy did get to start a PWL on her own with her BLK4 and would have cut Nici’s PWL short with a double “6”. However, Sissy only rolled a “5” and landed one field short just before Nici finished the game and the tournament.

With this victory, Nici celebrated the biggest success of her career to date and extended her lead in the Medal Race. It was also the first time that a player other than Sissy has won two consecutive ranking tournaments as Nici had also won the 2025 Holiday Masters.

While Sissy, as winner of six of the previous nine ranking tournaments, still leads the World Rankings, Nici well have a shot at the top spot with another “Major” title at the 2025 GP World Series in summer.
