At the start of a new season, all points will be reset to “0”. Rankings shall be updated following the conclusion of each tournament by adding the results of the latest tournament.

Starting with the 2027 Season, the Medal Race will be re-branded “XRace”. With all three “Majors” being played simultaneously, rankings will be updated after each single counted game and following the conclusion of each tournament.

At the end of the season, the leader of the Medal Race (soon “XRace”) will be declared “Player Of The Year” and have the right to choose allied colours for the upcoming new season. The other players will have to switch positions with regard to the succession of play and be allocated allied colours accordingly.

Total Points (TOTAL) are combined by tournament points (TP), winner points (WP) and, if applicable, compensatory points (CP).

Tournament Points (TP):
TP are the Basic Points (BP) multiplied by the respective tournament’s level:

  • 1st place: 7 BP * tournament level
  • 2nd place (at least 1 WP): 4 BP * tournament level
  • 3rd place or 0 WP: 2 BP * tournament level

Winner Points (WP) – Championship & Masters:
1 WP is scored by the winner of a single counted game.

Winner Points (WP) – Grand Prix Series:
1 WP is scored by the player finishing a single counted game with the most GPP. In case of a tie, the WP is won by the player finishing their best colour in first place.12

Compensatory Points (CP):
Corresponding amounts of CP shall be awarded to the winner of a tournament to compensate for possible injustices such as:

  • the winner otherwise not scoring at least 1 Total Point more than each player finishing below.
  • the winner successfully defending their title otherwise losing the top spot of the World Rankings due to a reduction of playing distance preventing them from repeating the Total Points scored in that tournament’s previous edition.

Ties are broken by the following criteria (among the triple-threat ranking tournaments considered by the current World Rankings):

  1. accrued Tournament Points (TP)
  2. accrued Winner Points (WP)
  3. “Major” tournaments won
  4. World Championships won
  5. ranking tournaments won
  6. “Holiday” tournaments won
  7. accrued Grand Prix Points (GPP of all GP games)
  8. quickness of victory (victorious 3T/3T+ game times accrued; full minutes only)
  9. steps 1, 2, 7 in “Major” tournaments
  10. steps 1, 2, 7 in “Holiday” tournaments

  1. In 2025, the WP was shared between tied players at 0.5 each. ↩︎
  2. Before 2025, 1 WP was scored by each of the tied players. ↩︎
