Sissy closed out the 2025 triple-threat season by successfully defending her title at the non-ranking TripleAthlon.
After 2:43 hours of play in Game 6 (3T+), the longest game of the tournament, Sissy converted her first match point to complete her second PCWL.
In the first five games (3T, GP, 3T+, 3T, GP), Sissy had built a comfortable 6-2-2 lead against Nici and Harry and required only one more point to meet the points target.
A long and grinding game developed on Friday evening as it took both Sissy (YLW1) and Nici (VIO1) over 70 minutes to save their first pawns.
Knowing that one of them had to win the game to extend the tournament, Nici and Harry tried their best to collaborate but Sissy once again delivered a tactical masterpiece.
Patiently, she got to force both opponents to go 3-&-0 (Harry even 4-&-1) while maintaining a tactically favourable order with her own pawns (🟡⚫|⚫🟡|⚫🟡|🟡⚫).
Actually, Harry had a good start saving RED1 near the half-hour mark and, later on, having both BLU1 and RED1 closing in to home in tactically favourable order. But BLU1 was stopped and, shortly afterwards, RED1 was forced to go home and from then on, things went south for him.
After 2:36 hours of play, with BLK4 already just under two thirds around the track, Sissy completed her yellow team to start her first PCWL. It wouldn’t last long but Sissy didn’t have to wait long to start a second one and quickly moved BLK4 around the track.
Without any significant pressure threatening from behind, Sissy finished the game on a “6” to meet (and exceed) the points target of seven.
XMädn action is scheduled to continue with DRR5 of the 2025 XLeague which, due to the premature ending of the TripleAthlon, has been brought forward to St. Nicholas Day.
