Two-time defending XLeague Champion Sissy (16-6) won both her at-boards of the top of DRR6 to three-peat as XLeague Round-Robin Winner ahead of her froggy daughter, Nici (10-12), and her husband, Harry (7-15).

As significant changes in the standings are no longer possible, the bottom half of DRR6 was cancelled and the Round Robin Series ended with only 22 rather than 24 at-boards per player.

Nevertheless, Sissy set a new Round-Robin record with 16 total wins. Her winning percentage of .727 is also a new XLeague best.

In the first at-board of the evening, Sissy beat Nici by 8-7 in dramatic fashion as Nici’s BLK3 kicked Sissy’s RED4 in match-point situation and managed to go home with BLK4 already on a PWL.

However, Sissy quickly got RED4 back on track and moved it forward to first kick BLK4 just under three quarters around the track and close to the RED home before converting match point number seven.

In the second at-board of the game, Nici’s second-place finishing was jeopardized by her loss to her Dad. But Sissy would not simply hand victory to her husband in the third at-board but instead maintained her perfect head-to-head record against Harry, thus clinching second place for Nici.

Nici will take a 1-0 head start into the First-to-3 Qualifying Round against Harry. This advantage must be considered even more valuable as not only did she lose seven out of eleven at-boards head-to-head against Harry, she also is on a four-game losing streak overall.

The Playoff Series is traditionally played in the final week of the year. The Qualifying Series is scheduled to start with its first two at-boards on Boxing Day. The Final Series is likely to begin on 28 December but could be moved forward if the second finalist is prematurely determined.
