XMädn discusses further changes for 2026

Following the conclusion of the 2025 triple-threat season, the Board disclosed further changes for the 2026 season.

Last month, the Board had disclosed changes with regard to playing distances of GP tournaments and announced that the XLeague would revert to 2T rules for good.

The changes disclosed today refer mainly to the TripleAthlon but also effect the triple-threat season as a whole, the World Rankings and also the XLeague.

The all-around event featuring games of three sets of rules will undergo some changes and one major upgrade.

Sissy wins TripleAthlon

2025 TripleAthlon Winner: Sissy

Sissy closed out the 2025 triple-threat season by successfully defending her title at the non-ranking TripleAthlon.

After 2:43 hours of play in Game 6 (3T+), the longest game of the tournament, Sissy converted her first match point to complete her second PCWL.

In the first five games (3T, GP, 3T+, 3T, GP), Sissy had built a comfortable 6-2-2 lead against Nici and Harry and required only one more point to meet the points target.

A long and grinding game developed on Friday evening as it took both Sissy (YLW1) and Nici (VIO1) over 70 minutes to save their first pawns.

XMädn brings back TripleAthlon, discusses changes for 2026

As the World Championship ended prematurely and with the XLeague will not resume until December 13, the Board has decided to bridge the gap by bringing back the “TripleAthlon”, an all-around event featureing the three most common sets of rules: 3T, GP and 3T+.

Winning a single game under 3T/3T+ rules will score two points. If GP rules are used, one point each will be awarded for first place and to the first player to bring home both allied colors.

Sissy three-peats as World Champion!

2025 World Champion: Sissy

Sissy needed only 58 minutes to win Game 10, thus three-peating as World Champion at Monday Night MÄDNess.

Having won all three tournaments of this year’s Championship sub-season and five consecutive tournaments played under 3T rules dating back to 2024, Sissy remains the Queen of Championships.

After two consecutive single-game wins, Sissy took a 6-2-1 lead into Game 10 of the first-to-7 series.

Nici (RED1) drew first blood and Harry (GRN1) followed two minutes later, 12 minutes into the game.

World Championship: Sissy clinches the “Medal” in Game 2

“Queen” Sissy mathematically clinched her third straight “Medal” as Player Of The Year by winning Game 2 of the 2025 World Championship at Monday Night MÄDNess.

A day earlier, Sissy’s 14-game winning streak in games played under 3T rules had come to an end when Nici needed only 48 minutes to win the opener – the quickest 3T game so far in XMädn history.

In Game 2, Sissy and Harry collaborated heavily and successfully against Nici until the endgame when both players were pressing for the win.
