World Championship: Sissy clinches the “Medal” in Game 2

“Queen” Sissy mathematically clinched her third straight “Medal” as Player Of The Year by winning Game 2 of the 2025 World Championship at Monday Night MÄDNess.

A day earlier, Sissy’s 14-game winning streak in games played under 3T rules had come to an end when Nici needed only 48 minutes to win the opener – the quickest 3T game so far in XMädn history.

In Game 2, Sissy and Harry collaborated heavily and successfully against Nici until the endgame when both players were pressing for the win.

World Championship to start on Sunday

Two-time defending World Champion Sissy will start into another title defense when the 2025 World Championship kicks off on Sunday.

Riding a 14-game winning streak in games played under 3T rules, Sissy is heavily favoured to three-peat in the most prestigious tournament of the year.

In fact, after losing the 2025 World Masters to her froggy daughter, Nici, and the 2025 GP World Series to her husband, Harry, it is her last chance to win a “Major” trophy in this season.

Still, even if Sissy misses out on yet another trophy, she is more than likely to be named Player Of The Year again after the season.

2025 Holiday Champion: Sissy

Sissy is one single-game win away from winning her third straight “Medal” after shutting out Nici and Harry to win the 2025 Holiday Championship in East Frisia.

Sissy extended her incredible 3T-single-game winning streak to 14 and will go heavily favoured into the 2025 World Championship, the final and most prestigious “Major” of the season.

Sissy dominated both games of the opening doubleheader last Wednesday at Spiekeroog as she needed only 74 and 64 minutes, respectively, to claim victory.

Sissy is Summer Champion

2025 Summer Champion: Sissy

Sissy completed her impressive collection of titles in recurring ranking tournaments as she won the 2025 Summer Championship which she had failed to win in its first two editions.

She needed only the minimum of two games, albeit both highly dramatic, to win the last title that had evaded her thus far. Also, she extended her 3T-single-game winning streak to 11.

In the opener on Saturday evening, it seemed as though the die was more of an opponent than Harry and two-time defending Summer Champion Nici as Sissy had a really hard time to save her pawns and determine a go-to colour.

XLeague resumed

The 2025 XLeague was resumed last weekend and at Monday Night MÄDNess with the remaining two at-boards of DRR3 and the complete fourth of six double round-robins.

The season, which was started in March as “XLeague Masters”, was suspended in early May after DRR3. In early June, the Board announced that the season would be restumed under the “XLeague moniker” but retain its 2T+ set of rules for this season.

When the season was suspended in May, Sissy (then 8-3) was declared winner of the Round Robin Series after winning Game 3_4 against Harry (then 3-8).
