Sissy defends XLeague Round Robin title

Defending XLeague winner Sissy (15-9) will return to the first-to-4 Final Series and have a 1-0 head start after an epic final double round-robin of the 2024 XLeague.

Nici (11-13) will have a 1-0 head start when facing Harry (10-14) in the first-to-3 Qualifying Series to determine the second finalist.

Sissy made a remarkable comeback from her abysmal 0-8 start earlier this year and has won 15-of-16 ever since, including her last four at-boards.

Nici, on the other hand, has only won 4-of-16 since starting into the season 7-1.

Sissy wins first ever TripleAthlon

The unstoppable “Queen” Sissy extended her winning streak in 3T games to nine in Game at Monday Night MÄDNess, thus collecting the two points she needed to win the first ever XMädn TripleAthlon.

Harry was keen to win the game to get in a position in which he would need only one point from Game 8 under GP rules to reach the points target (PT7).

Harry’s start into the game was promising as he saved two of his violet pawns, the second one after miraculously surviving severe pressure from numerous opposing pawns.

XMädn adds “TripleAthlon”, discusses changes for 2025

At a press conference, the XMädn Board announced the addition of a new triple-threat all-around tournament at short notice due to the current situation.

Also, a variety of changes coming into effect for the 2025 Season was discussed, including an XLeague expansion.

TripleAthlon introduced

As the World Championship ended much earlier than expected and the XLeague will not resume until December 14, an all-around tournament will be introduced to bridge the gap. It is scheduled to start this coming weekend and will feature games following the three most common sets of rules: 3T, GP and 3T+.

Sissy is World Champion again!

Sissy is the winner of the 2024 World Championship. On Thursday evening, she converted her fifth championship point to win Game 16 the series 10-3-3.

It was a rather unspectacular game compared to the two games played last weekend for which Harry has to take the blame.

With his wife requiring only one more win and holding a big overall lead, Harry seemed to have lost faith in staging a miraculous comeback.

Instead of joining forces with Nici, he seemed to focus on not falling behind his froggy daughter in order to at least defend second place in the Medal Race.

Sissy completes Holiday Treble

“Queen” Sissy won her sixth triple-threat title of the season and her eleventh overall as she completed her “Holiday Treble” in a dramatic Holiday Championship decider.

Earlier this season, Sissy had already won the Holiday Masters and the GP Holiday Series.

Also, Sissy has prematurely clinched her second straight “Medal” as Player Of The Year.

Sissy needed no fewer than 21 championship points to finally clinch the title on a motionless “6” followed by a “1” for her fourth yellow pawn after 1:54 hours of play on Sunday back in Hanover.
