Sissy opens her winning account in Holiday Masters opener

A week after remaining winless at the Winter Masters, three-time Medal winner Sissy got her first win of 2026 in the opener of the first-to-3 Holiday Masters.
Sissy needed a total of 12 PWL and 19 match points to open her winning account for the season on a “1” for YLW4 after 2:10 hours of play.
After defending title holder Nici had opened the score (GRN1), Sissy dominated the board and saved four unanswered pawns (2-&-2).
Harry had a slow start and needed 79 minutes to save his first pawn (RED1) and only a minute later, having maintained a tactically favourable order of pawns saved, Sissy started her first PWL with Nici having saved 2-&-1. With her second PWL, Sissy reached match-point position but she missed six match points while under severe pressure from four opposing pawns.
With Nici and Harry having a vast majority of pawns active on the board, Sissy had ten more PWL cut short while her opponents got their pawns home one-by-one to get back into the game. At the end of the game, Harry had saved 3-&-2 maintaining a tactically favourable order of pawns saved despite having to focus on defensive play.
On her final PWL, pressured by VIO4, Sissy ran out of dice-rolling luck and missed another 12 match points. She breathed a sigh of relief when VIO4 was forced to leapfrog YLW4. A minute after Nici had started a PWL of her own with VIO4 just over a sixth around the track, Sissy finally rolled a “1” to clinch a well-earned victory.
Game 2 of the first-to-3 series is scheduled for Monday Night MÄDNess.
