Two-time title defender Sissy successfully defend her trophy as XLeague Playoff Champion defeating her husband, Harry, 4-2 in the Final Series.

Sissy held her nerves and bounced back from 2-1 down to win the series after Harry had overtaken the 1-0 head start into the series Sissy had been awarded as Round Robin Winner.

On Sunday, the die seemed to be passionately in love with Harry’s allied colours all day, constantly yielding the numbers required while Sissy was struggling and also heavily suffered from “friendly fire”.

Harry reaches Final Series

XLeague Playoff finalist: Harry

Harry reached the XLeague Final Series for the first time in his career by defeating his froggy daughter, Nici, 3-1 in the Qualifying Series.

It was the first time that an XLeague Playoff Series was won by the lower seed. Harry overcame Nici’s 1-0 head start that she had been awarded due to her superior overall win-loss record from the Round Robin Series (10-12 to 7-15).

In the first-to-4 Final Series, Harry will face his wife, Sissy, who won the Round Robin Series and will also have a 1-0 head start.

XLeague Round-Robin Winner: Sissy

Two-time defending XLeague Champion Sissy (16-6) won both her at-boards of the top of DRR6 to three-peat as XLeague Round-Robin Winner ahead of her froggy daughter, Nici (10-12), and her husband, Harry (7-15).

As significant changes in the standings are no longer possible, the bottom half of DRR6 was cancelled and the Round Robin Series ended with only 22 rather than 24 at-boards per player.

Nevertheless, Sissy set a new Round-Robin record with 16 total wins. Her winning percentage of .727 is also a new XLeague best.

XMädn discusses further changes for 2026

Following the conclusion of the 2025 triple-threat season, the Board disclosed further changes for the 2026 season.

Last month, the Board had disclosed changes with regard to playing distances of GP tournaments and announced that the XLeague would revert to 2T rules for good.

The changes disclosed today refer mainly to the TripleAthlon but also effect the triple-threat season as a whole, the World Rankings and also the XLeague.

2025 TripleAthlon Winner: Sissy

Sissy closed out the 2025 triple-threat season by successfully defending her title at the non-ranking TripleAthlon.

After 2:43 hours of play in Game 6 (3T+), the longest game of the tournament, Sissy converted her first match point to complete her second PCL.

In the first five games (3T, 3T*, 3T+, 3T, 3T*), Sissy had built a comfortable 6-2-2 lead against Nici and Harry and required only one more point to meet the points target.

A long and grinding game developed on Friday evening as it took both Sissy (YLW1) and Nici (VIO1) over 70 minutes to save their first pawns.
